A Good Verse

Here are three versions of Psalm 68:19:

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!  (The Gideon Bible)

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.  (NIV)

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation.  (ESV)

SBU's Welcome Week is over and the school year has officially begun.  God has continued to show his grace to me.

I have no clue as to why these versions are so different, but each of them is very good.

The one that is the most different is the NIV.  Burn it.

Actually, I think its interesting that the Gideon's "loads us with benefits" can also be translated "bears our burdens..." that certainly is a benefit, isn't it?  Its almost as though the Gideon's takes a positive spin while the ESV takes a negative spin (through using the phrases loaded benefits vs. bears burdens).  Veeery interesting...

Knight Parties are dance parties held once a month Saturday night from 10PM to 2AM at Knight Auditorium. They have free drinks for the younguns and free beer for those over 21. It's pretty much a rave minus the drugs. Not the most fun. But that's what everyone at Babson does since pretty much everyone at babson is lost.
