| Xanga has served its purpose for me. I will not erase the site, but I will write no more. Adios! |

| It's time for an update... I really do not deserve anything. The only reason I have anything is by the grace of God. And I've never been more firm about that statement until now. This verse has also been on my mind: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." --Exodus 14:14 MY CAR IS FIXED! Yes, that's right, no more rattling, bouncing, or dead bodies in the rear of my car. As I previously stated, the air conditioning has been out since I came back to school. Well, as I was driving home this weekend I passed someone (only for the second time in my life) and shortly thereafter I smelled burnt rubber and the steering wheel became horrendously difficult to turn either direction. I pulled over, called Dad, and investigated under the hood to find that there was no power steering belt to be found. My father was very self-sacrificial and diligent in working on my car. He found that, since the bearings on the air pump were worn out, the air pump locked up when I passed the car and it completely fried through the power steering belt. He replaced it, the alternator belt, and the shocks (thus fixing the problem in the rear) on his days off and did not charge me for one of the shocks. Yes, he is a very good father. |

| Here are three versions of Psalm 68:19:
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! (The Gideon Bible)
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. (NIV)
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. (ESV)
SBU's Welcome Week is over and the school year has officially begun. God has continued to show his grace to me. |

| I am learning about how to respond when the Lord gives you something and then removes it from your life and your heart is in pain.
"Naked I came from my mother's womb and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."--Job 1:21
He knows what He's doing.
Secondly, "Baby" (my car) no longer has air conditioning. She is aging. This is a great thing, because now I can prepare for the mission trip and become accustomed to Africa's climate. |
